The Russian Federation is an enormous country occupying a substantial portion of both Northern Asia and also Eastern Europe. Russia is actually the biggest country on the planet and as such, boasts a truly diverse selection of landscapes, architecture, wildlife and climate extremes.

With no less than 12 different time zones, Russia is also home to a series of extensive coastlines and borders the Arctic and North Pacific oceans, along with smaller stretches next to seas such as the Baltic and the Caspian. The main regions of Russia are Central, Far Eastern, Kaliningrad, North-western, Siberia, Southern, Urals and Volga, each of which has something quite unique and individual to offer.

Many spectacular sights are scattered all around Russia, both natural and manmade. Highlights include the volcanoes of Kamchatka, the magnificent palaces of St. Petersburg, scenic trips onboard the trans-Siberian train, white-water rafting high up in the Altai Mountains, an even mountaineering on the highest peak in Europe, Mount Elbrus.

However, by far the most visited tourist destination in Russia is its colourful capital city of Moscow. Here visitors are treated to many truly iconic sites, such as the extravagant domes of St. Basil's Cathedral, the Kremlin building and Red Square.
